Personalised school name labels in India: how to pick a set that lasts the year

Waterproof? Laminated? Curved fit? Here's what to look for in personalised school name labels for books, bottles, uniforms and lunch boxes — especially in Indian weather.

Between monsoon leaks, dabba spills and over-enthusiastic school-bag tosses, labels go through a lot. Here's how to choose a set that'll still look crisp in March.

Match the label to the surface

  • Books & notebooks: matte vinyl, medium size, space for subject + class.
  • Water bottles: laminated waterproof vinyl with a curved-fit shape.
  • Lunch boxes & dabbas: food-safe laminated stickers that survive the dishwasher.
  • Uniforms & cloth items: iron-on name labels, not adhesive stickers.
  • Pencil boxes & stationery: smaller stickers, often with a photo or icon.

What 'waterproof' actually means

Most stickers sold as 'waterproof' are printed on vinyl. That means they resist splashes and condensation, but a good laminated overlay is what makes the difference in real-world use — it protects the ink from scratching and fading. Ask whether the stickers are laminated before you order.

Fields worth including

Name is a given. We recommend including Class, Section, Subject and Roll Number on most school labels — it's the difference between a label and a little identity card, and helps books come back home when they get mixed up. For lunch boxes and bottles, just name + class is usually enough.
